Fusion Flowers -

http://www.fusionflowers.com
Fusion Flowers February/March issue has featured one of the winter designs with Rosa 'Rosalind'. It is a typical Old English Rose shape, and I wish I had it in the garden! It is considerably warmer this year in London. In fact, I can see some vanila colour roses blooming now in the garden under this gloomy February sky! http://www.fusionflowers.com

IPM is an annual exhibition held in Essen, Germany. The core theme is a horticulture matter, however, there is a florist competition and show for sundries. It is beyond a gardening show. People visit this even not only from within Europe, but from all overthe world. People are taking mamo to jot down the design ideas, making some business talk on the satnd with big smiles on their faces... My colleague, K, kindly showed me around the show, but itwas full of great techniques and fresh approaches to floristry. There were some chances to meet up new people, and to catch up some familiar faces, too! All the experience yet again gave me so much power to 'keep going on', and left the venue feeling like staying there a bit more. K, thank you ever so much for your kindness and hospitality. I really enjoyed the show! Did you get home safely?

Thursday Class -

In Advance Class on Thursday, Parallel Vegetative Arrangement is the theme for the comimng 2 weeks. As this is a VEGETATIVE style, which is to aim to recreate the way plants actually grow in the nature, each material has its own growth point. Why don't you collect some flowers which bloom in the same season, and create the landscape where each material grown up showing its beauty. It might be a good idea to use a long container to show off the design, however, it is entirely up to your design. The example here is with some Spring flowers which started coming into the market. Meanwhile, Basic Class' theme is traditional Front Facing arrangement. Looking forward to seeing your OWN landscape in the design.

Hana-Jikan (Japanese Flower Magazine) -

http://www.cocontohzai.com
Hana-Jikan - I have been reading this magazine since I was in Japan. Last year, luckily, I had a chance to be featured in this magazine. The editor had kindly sent me a couple of copy of this issue, but I could not open the page I was on for a while. I guess I was a little bit nervous and shy... Anyway, this article has brought me some voices from my colleagues working with flowers. Some of them are no longer in business, though. Among these, 'I have opened my shop' was from Hitomi. She is now a proud owner of her own shop called Cocon Tohzai. The shop has a huge window, and filled with her aura: lots of vitality, yet very delicate. Colourful and smiling town, Osaka, is her base now. I am very much looking forward to seeing what FLOWER she will bring up there. My colleague in Osaka. Why don't you have a look at her web site? http://www.cocontohzai.com
